This is a screw type compression mount. Tightening the screws tightens the mount “rings” to hold a 50mm diameter microphone. Designed for light duty use, such as situations where you will not remove shockmount every day. It is recommended that you leave this mount on the microphone and store the mic and mount together. Remove the mic rarely and keep it out of sunlight and UV light, which adversely affects rubber and elastics. Instructions: Remove the microphone and microphone mount from the packaging, and set them on a soft flat surface, such as towel on a table. Slide the microphone, bottom first, into the mount and position the front of the mic opposite the mic stand arm. Use a flat head screwdriver to tighten the rings around the mic until the microphone is unable to slide. Do not over tighten the compression screws or the mic mount will break. When a shock cord fails or a metal joint breaks, replace the mount immediately with a new one. No repair parts are available.
